Wednesday, April 29, 2009. Another APE day. I arrived in UPM 40 minutes before the time. I sat outside the Little Theater and started to cram whatever I can with my Trig notes from the college entrance review. Not long after Jenica came from the cafeteria. She showed her sister's Dep exams which she had been reviewing. When I saw it, I knew it was over. I already gave up. I was supposed to study the day before but I got some things to settle with my DOST scholarship. Even so, I was glad I didn't for it would have been futile anyway and a total waste of time. Fast forward to the exam. One of the first things the proctor said was that no one EVER passed the Math 17 APE. Oookaay... So whatever. Come what may, I'll just do what I can and what I can remember. A few moments after, the proctor called our attention to clarify some instructions. His words that stuck to me was, "Alam niyo naman siguro yung mga kademonyohang sinasabi ko kaya nga kayo nandito, 'diba?" That was when I decided that I wouldn't want this biologically male person to be my prof for the Killer Math. Hell, I didn't expect to encounter the words cis and polar in any subject other than Chem. I passed my paper 30 minutes before the time, right after Kim passed hers. When I went out of the room I was still dazed. Kim and I met outside and talked about the nightmarish experience. When I got home I announced that I wasn't able to answer the test and that I would probably flunk the subject if I didn't do some serious advance studies over the summer. (This is a big problem because I have to keep my grades above 2.75 or my scholarship would be done for.)
And so, along with all the fuss on the net about Math 17, this wraps my first encounter with the Killah Math. ^_^
